SimpleRisk's Plan for COVID-19
by Josh Sokol (Creator & CEO of SimpleRisk)
I've been avoiding sending out an e-mail about this since I know you all have already been inundated by e-mails from every other company, but I wanted to at least put something out there to let you know where SimpleRisk stands with respect to business continuity against this COVID-19 pandemic. As a security practitioner myself, our organization has been designed from the ground up with confidentiality, integrity, and availability in mind. All of our employees were already working remotely when this began, so we have a 0% risk of the effects of COVID-19 on our business due to employee-to-employee contact. In addition, all of our employees have been asked to continue to work from home and to take appropriate safety precautions when traveling outside of their home for any reason. All business travel has been ceased to prevent further risk of compromise.
Operationally speaking, our business processes have been designed with redundancy in mind, and we should have no issues supporting our customers through this pandemic. Our support team continues to monitor our ticketing system during standard business hours and we strive to provide an initial response to questions within the first five minutes of contact. Your support of SimpleRisk means everything to us and we want you to know that we'll always be there to support you, as well.
As for the SLA of our SimpleRisk product itself, our hosted customers have never experienced an unplanned outage, and we intend to keep it that way. Our Medium and Large Enterprise customers enjoy the availability that comes along with having a dedicated environment with dedicated systems with redundancy built in. We've leveraged the power of Amazon Web Services (AWS) to ensure the most secure, fastest performing, and highly-available platform possible.
Finally, SimpleRisk has been in business for over seven years. Over that time, we've garnered a large, diverse, customer base and annual contracts that are spread across the calendar year. We've been smart with our business decisions and have cash reserves to continue operating as normal for the foreseeable future.
To summarize, we are well prepared practically and financially for this type of situation. We do not expect any interruptions to our business and all functions continue to operate as usual. On behalf of the entire SimpleRisk team, thank you for putting your trust in our business. Our hearts go out to all of those who are affected by this terrible situation and we hope for a quick and safe resolution around the globe.
